transversal phyllotaxy

With transversal phyllotaxy, 2 prophylls can be found opposite to each other and lateral to the main axis. Transversal arranged prophylls are typical for Dicots. They are easily discernible in Nerium – Oleander (cf. also addorsed phyllotaxy).
