helicoid cyme
A helicoid
cyme
is a
cymose inflorescence
whose main axis terminates with a
flower
and whose growth is continued by 1
lateral shoot
(cf.
monochasium
). The
flowers
occur always on 1 side of the main axis. Therefore, often a single-sided pendulous
inflorescence
develops (e. g. in
Myosotis
– Forget-me-Not) (cf. also
scorpioid cyme
).
