Labiate
flower have fused
petals and are
zygomorphic. The
perianth-leaves form an upper- and lower-lip (e. g. in
Lamium – Deadnettle or other Nettle
family members). Occasionally, the upper-lip is
helmet-shaped (cf.
galea) (e. g. in
Aconitum – Monkshood) or only 1 lip is developed (mostly the lower-lip) (e. g. in
Ajuga – Bugle).
