rosette

In a rosette, many foliage-leaves are densely clustered at the base of the stem. Phyllotaxy in a rosette is mostly alternate. However, as the longitudinal growth of the stem is suppressed, the leaves appear to be whorled. Especially, rosulate plants (e. g. Taraxacum – Dandelions) and semi-rosulate plants (e. g. Verbascum – Mullein) can be distinguished.
