A scorpioid cyme is a cymose inflorescence whose main axis terminates with a flower and whose growth is continued by 1 lateral shoot (cf. monochasium). The flowers are alternating on the left and right side of the main axis (e. g. in Echium – Viper's Bugloss and other Forget-me-Not family members) (cf. also helicoid cyme).
