A microphyll is a leaf with only 1 unbranched vascular bundle. Microphylls are mostly small and constructed simple. Their lamina is mostly only few cell layers thick (e. g. in Clubmosses or Horsetails). In contrast, the leaves of Spermatophytes are megaphylls.
